Donate Now to Save the Music at Columbia
The Need is Big, The Time is Now
Music education funding is constantly at risk and CHSMPA’s role in filling the gaps between what the budget provides and what music teachers actually need is more important than ever. We provide stipends directly to teachers, fund and support performances and events, and make direct donations to the music program to meet need.
We do this through direct fundraising, holding events and maintaining a robust and active membership. These are all ways that you can help.
All donations to CHSMPA go directly to supporting music education at CHS—we are an all-volunteer non-profit organization that exists solely for this purpose.
How to Donate
You can donate online right now through the following convenient, secure, mainstream platforms. You will receive an acknowledgment from the plaftorm and from CHSMPA.

What Donations Make Possible
CHSMPA is ready to help the music education team at Columbia with all kinds of needs, usually at a moment’s notice. These are a few examples of how CHSMPA has helped over the last few years.
Our work is far from done as the music program continues to expand and budgets continue to shrink.
Funding Masterclasses
CHS Student Musicians participate in clinics with world-class conductors and musicians, thanks to masterclasseses funded by CHSMPA.
All string musicians particpated in two separate masterclasses with three professional maestros this fall, made possible by the generosity of donors like you.
Music Tech Equipment
Instruments cost more than you think, and we firmly believe any student should be able to participate in music programming, regardless of their means.
CHSMPA has helped CHS purchase countless string basses, horns, bows, mallets, amplifiers, microphones and other instruments, all because of its donors.
Everything Else
Columbia is proud of its Music Technology program. It offers facilities and experiences in music production typically unavailable in public education.
CHSMPA has helped outfit this facilities with critical equipment to make this education possible—from keyboards to cables and wiring. CHSMPA also supports outstanding Student-produced concerts events, featuring student performers, from funding to staffing.
Purchasing Instruments
Running a modern music program has a lot of moving parts and requires logistic support that can be both complex and costly.
In 2025, CHSMPA helped CHS purchase a truck for the marching band to transport over 80 musicians’ equipment to competitions and between the high school and Underhill Stadium, several times a week.
In 2024, CHSMPA helped move a valuable piano that was donated—a donation the school otherwise would not be able to accept.
