Beatfest

A student-run, freeform student music festival showcasing Columbia’s unique performance and production talent.

Student-Produced. Student-Performed.
A music festival like no other.

Beatfest is Columbia’s freeform student music showcase. This annual event is run by CHS students and members of the Music Industry Club and the Music Studio Club, with the support of music tech teacher Ms. Emily Vite and CHSMPA.

This festival welcomes the community to enjoy the vast music talent the student community has to offer, while raising funds for music programming. Student bands, DJs and musicians audition to get on the playbill and then perform for a packed audience.

Beatfest Gives Students the Stage

Beatfest has become an anticipated tradition in the CHS music community—as one of the final music events of the performance year, it helps kick off Summer in an explosive night of talent. 2026 saw Beatfest’s return to Ritzer field, cementing this night as an important CHS tradition.

The 2026 show was curated from the largest pool of auditions in Beatfest history, the event showcased more than 40 student musicians, who performed for a crowd of nearly 1000. Beatfest 2026 was the biggest in every way.

Heading into its fifth year, the event has become a fundraiser for music at Columbia, and CHSMPA is proud to support the students as they produce this incredible night of music.
